On May 28, the first 500kW generator prototype under FAW Jiefang’s new brand Jiefang Green Power completed a successful ignition test in Wuxi. This milestone marks FAW Jiefang’s official entry into the energy solution sector. It also signals a strategic business upgrade: Jiefang Green Power expands from aftermarket services to integrated aftermarket + energy equipment business, while Jiefang Powertrain evolves from solely vehicle engines to dual segments of power systems and energy equipment.
Wang Zhiyu, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of FAW Jiefang, and Dong Yazhou, Member of the Party Committee, Assistant General Manager as well as Party Secretary & General Manager of the Powertrain Division, attended the ignition ceremony together with management and staff representatives from Jiefang Green Power and Jiefang Powertrain.
Wang Zhiyu pointed out that the global push for carbon peaking and carbon neutrality is accelerating the shift toward low-carbon, energy-efficient power industries, bringing massive market opportunities for eco-friendly power generation equipment. Rising global infrastructure construction and digital economy growth have boosted steady demand for emergency and backup power supplies in factories, data centers, outdoor construction sites and more. Clients are increasingly looking for low-carbon, high-efficiency and durable power generators.

Building on this successful prototype ignition, FAW Jiefang will cooperate with supply chain partners to speed up product testing, arrange mass delivery and expand sales channels, pushing forward full-cycle commercialization from prototype to mass production and market rollout.

The unit’s service life exceeds 25,000 operating hours, with an overhaul interval of up to 12,000 hours, ranking among the top industry standards.

Powered by Jiefang Powertrain’s CA6DX3 engine, its specific power is 19% higher than competing products, delivering strong output within a compact footprint.
3.Excellent fuel economy
Its customized combustion system and control algorithms are optimized for continuous power generation and fluctuating loads. It cuts fuel consumption by over 3% compared with peer models, lowering customers’ operating costs while supporting low-carbon operations.
4.Wide environmental adaptability
It works stably in temperatures ranging from -25°C to 50°C with no power loss at altitudes up to 3,000 meters. It supports B40 and higher biodiesel and withstands coastal and marine environments. It fits diverse scenarios including highland construction, backup power for renewable energy plants, industrial production and outdoor infrastructure projects.
Jiefang Green Power generators now cover full power ranges from 12kW to 3000kW, supporting both 50Hz and 60Hz power frequencies.
